Animoto turns your photos and music into stunning videos! You provide the photos, minimal text, then you pick the song, and they'll add the magic. It’s fast, free and shockingly easy! Teaching Tools

The following are some free online tools to help make lessons more engaging and interactive.

Actively Learn: ***JUST ADDED*** Works just like Curriculet shown below, but a little easier to use and has more functions in the free version.  Check it out!

Google Lit Trips are free downloadable files that mark the journeys of characters from famous literature on the surface of Google Earth. At each location along the journey there are placemarks with pop-up windows containing a variety of resources including relevant media, thought provoking discussion starters, and links to supplementary information about “real world” references made in that particular portion of the story.

Curriculet: Embed a layer of questions, quizzes, and rich media annotations into any reading assignment, many already done for you!

Bitesize: short video introductions and explanations of some of the mandated works.

Teaching Books: Search for Books, Authors, Illustrators, Subjects, Booklists, Series, or Awards, get resources to supplement reading activities, and connect with engaging new context and understanding.

Discovery Education: lots of teaching resources for English instruction, including both print and video resources on grammar, composition, reading, literature, etc.  You will need the District's access code to create your own account, which is recommended since you can save whatever resources you find!

BrainPop: videos and interactive quizzes on a variety of English topics, district-wide subscription.

ReadWriteThink: lots of resources in reading and language arts instruction.
